What is the Charter for Compassion?
In November 2009, the Charter of Compassion was formally launched, base don the belief that compassion is indispensable to the creation of a just economy and a peaceful global community. It has become a global movement to create a more compassionate world where peace and caring and the Golden Rule in all languages prevail for the good of all.
Earlier this year, the Mayor and Council of the City of Syracuse and the County Executive and Legislature of the County of Onondaga signed the Charter and called on members of the community to embrace this goal and to work to develop and apply compassionate solutions to the issues in our community.
